Carla is a registered, practicing Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years experience in both the private and public mental health sphere as well as in the corporate space, working with a range of individuals who present with emotional and psychological difficulties.
Within the last 10 years, Carla has worked with adolescents, young adults and adults presenting with complex mental health issues within a private psychiatric hospital, providing both individual and group psychotherapy. She has also been providing individual psychotherapy to adolescent and adult clients in private practice who present with problems related to specific and situational difficulties, as well as those who experience ongoing distress associated with their early life or past experiences, sense of self issues and difficulties in their relationships.
Her approach is to facilitate a safe working relationship, and to provide an empathic, genuine and mutual understanding of an individual’s difficulties in order to enhance personal growth, and enrich one’s relationship to their self and to others. Trained in a variety of evidence-based therapies, Carla is able to provide both short term and longer-term psychotherapy aimed at assisting individuals address their unique psychological needs as required.
Carla holds an Honours Degree in Psychology (USyd) and a Post-Graduate Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology (CSU) as well as a Masters Degree in Organisational Psychology (UNSW). Carla is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society and holds NSW registration with the Psychology Board of Australia. Carla continues to undertake professional development and training in various models of psychotherapy and psychoanalytic thinking and maintains her knowledge with current psychological research and practice. Carla also offers Clinical Supervision for psychologists and counsellors.
